Stimming

Today was the first day of stims ! I am to lower my 10 iu of Lupron down to 5 iu for the remainder of my stimulation days and I am also using 150 iu Follistim and 75 iu Menopur (1cc). I like the small orange-capped Lupron needles. They're insulin needles and I think because they are so small, I don't find them as intimidating. These are the only shots I give myself. I can't believe we're back here again. Another cycle of stabbing me in the stomach. Dr. B hasn't been used in a few months. ;) My next appointment will be January 2, 2012.

I cannot wait for this year to be over - it has been the worst year I can remember. I am hoping that next year is much better. The funny thing about having to do these injections at a set time (we do ours between 8 PM - 8:30 PM) is that we have had to do these injections at very weird places. For example, one day we were visiting our friends V & S, and right before ringing their doorbell, I was sitting outside their house in the dark injecting myself with Lupron. Chris said, "We look like druggies!" In a way, I am. :)

pre-GN

My pre-GN was supposed to be tomorrow, but with the nastiness of going to court, etc., we scheduled it for today. I started to bleed lightly today but was told that was normal since we stopped birth control on Christmas Day. When blood work results came back, my E2 was 26 (great!). My ultrasound came back great as well, and Dr. S told me to start Menopur and Follistim as planned tomorrow.

Consent Signing and the start of Lupron

I can still remember how excited I was when this day came. It signified the real start of my IVF journey. Chris and I saw Dr. T and my ultrasound looked fine. Afterward, we met with Sabrina, the IVF nurse (who was really nice and a hugger), and we went through all the consent forms. We thought that we had filled out most of the ones we needed (okay, I did :p) but it turns out that we were missing a lot (including the most important one). There were so many questions. ICSI? We had originally decided no since we had no sperm issues (and in fact, they kept talking about how great his sperm is). But when I had seen Dr. T, she raised an eyebrow when I said I was not going to do split-ICSI, and so now I'm second thinking it. I will start 10 iu Lupron tonight (are they ius? I'm going to use that terminology in this blog but they might not be since the needles are different). Here we go!

Birth Control

I haven't been very good about keeping up with my blog(s). =/ I'm determined that this is the one that I'll continue to update. I'm a bit behind, so I'm going to make several posts all on the same day, but keep them separate so that I can chronicle it better.

December 6th, 2011 is the first day I started birth control. It is CD 3 and my next appointment will be on the 19th will be my next checkup to start Lupron. I saw Dr. Kang, the new acupuncturist on December 13th, 2011.
